Since its inception in 2003, Umi has grown to over 30 stores across Canada and the United States with continued, steady growth.
We continually strive to set the standard and evolve with our franchise partners. We offer training and setup to help contribute to a successful turn key operation.
We are expanding into current and new markets with passionate and competitive franchisees who share in the vision to create and maintain the best in category locations.
Umi has been tested and refined over the course of over 30 stores. We have two (2) primary business types offered,
2) Inline Sushi/Teriyaki/Bento
We evaluate each location and finds the best fit for franchisees. We are now looking for energetic qualified candidates to own single and multi-unit franchise opportunities.
All stores are located in shopping centres.

Umi locations are located in mall food courts or just outside mall food courts. Umi’s real estate team has brokers throughout Canada and the United states to find desirable locations and pairs the selected franchisee to the location. However, if the franchisee has a preferred location this is taken into account.
You can choose to construct your own store with Franchisor approved plans. Or Umi ‘s construction and development team can manage the project on your behalf.
Experience in the food industry is an asset but not required. Ideal candidates have a love for Japanese food, passion for customer service, and strong day to day operation management skills. Umi franchisees must all meet all capital requirements.
